The TomTom 130 is a great gps unit, with being able to download other peoples points of interest to add to your own for free, ease of use, reliability, and on top of it all it’s only $150 with no subscription or service fees for navigation use.
Pros- There are so many great features about the TomTom but the greatest features that I like in this unit is definitely the points of interest downloads you can find on TomTom Home for free, be warned that some may be off a little or not even there at all since they are points that people plotted and uploaded on their own and not actually the work of the TomTom company. The TomTom also recalculates a new route and displays it automatically if you missed an exit or a turn.
Cons-There are only a few minor flaws that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating first being that the sound level is weak, you can hear it just fine as long as the windows are up and the radio is off otherwise forget it, but even then I am more a visual person and the on screen route guide is great. The other being that it takes just a second or two longer than I would care to show me the next turn on the display or to recalculate a new route if you missed a turn for when you are driving through a city and need results fast, even then it’s not all that slow.

After reading several reviews, I found that almost everyone liked this GPS EXCEPT for the fact that the volume was low. On the contrary, the volume is exceptional; in fact, I actually find myself turning it down. This GPS is everything I was looking for; I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a inexpensive GPS.

This is my first GPS unit (I’m also a very new driver) and I absolutely love this thing. It gives you plenty of warning before you have to turn or switch lanes. It’s very user friendly and the graphics are awesome

Once you get updated, download the map corrections to, turn it on stick to your window or dash, and your DONE! Volume is great, it warns you early enough before a turn or exit, it even knows how fast you are going!

I recently bought the Magellan Maestro 3225 and, after 5 days, returned it because it was really user unfriendly. I then got the TomTom for the same price and I love it! So many more features than the other one. One thing I love is that it gives you a choice of route and background colors so that you can decide what color scheme works best for you.

I had an old C320 Garmin GPS that I bought only 2 years ago and the touch screen was freezing up randomly for several months so I decided to get a new Garmin nuvi 200. I exchanged the Garmin nuvi 200 for the Tom Tom 130S mainly because the Garmin nuvi 200 did not have speech for street names. The Garmin nuvi 260 announces street names but was $250. The Tom Tom 130S was on sale for $199 so I decided to try it out although I was a little hesitant since I’m a big Garmin fan. I’m happy about my exchange. It’s plusses surpass its minuses:
My favorite features:
-The mount is awesome, it’s foldable and the Tom Tom snaps out easily.
It’s also very lightweight and can be easily stored with the Tom Tom for
easy transportability
